This Austrian spa-meets-ski haven attracts all sorts: Brits belting out “The Hills Are Alive” on their way up the Stubnerkogel gondola, Germans meticulously carving down Graukogel like they’re training for the Olympics, and Dutch snowboarders in bright orange gear wondering where all the flat land went.

By day, you can accidentally impress yourself on a deceptively steep red run, and by night, you’ll find everyone letting loose at the Silver Bullet bar or soaking their aching limbs at the Felsentherme.

We love the Insta-worthy views, long cruisy pistes, and the smug satisfaction of telling your mates you also did a thermal bath.

We're not so keen when navigating the steep streets in ski boots becomes an extreme sport in itself. But hey, if you’re going to slip and slide, at least do it in style—Bad Gastein’s got plenty to go around!
